India's Kalwa Slum

A decade ago, Rani's husband died from alcohol abuse. Left with a son and a daughter to feed, and no support,  Rani remarried. After giving birth to two more daughters, Rani's new husband abandoned all of them at a railway station. Forced to beg, life was grim. Eventually, Rani became a trash picker and moved her family into an illegal slum, called Kalwa. Thanks to your gracious support, one of our workers met Rani and reached out to her with the love of God. She has since come to Christ and attends a weekly fellowship. However, her life and the lives of her girls were still at great risk. Rani's 17-year old son has a drug problem and secret sex work had been going on next door. Real Restoration made an appeal to our donors to add these three girls to our Help 4 Angels K-12 education program. All three of Rani's precious daughters were sponsored within two weeks of the appeal!! Thank you for giving Rani’s daughters the opportunity to go to school and escape this hopeless situation! ​
